Expeditions are multi-day trips into the highlands and can be undertaken both in summer and winter. We can stay in hotels, tents or mountain huts in the winter-time according to your preferred level of comfort and how adventurous you are. Winter expeditions require a minimum of two vehicles for safety and security purposes. 

Our tours can also involve all kind of activities, including hiking, horse-riding, snow mobiling, river rafting, ice walking and fishing.

All expedition tours are led by our most experienced leaders, such as Kristján Kristjánsson, founder of Mountain Taxi. 
Kristján has been on the glacier on countless occasions and has crossed the glacier on Super Jeeps and snowmobiles over one hundred times.
