You will be traveling in the comfort of one of our Super Jeeps. The weather outside however can be variable and we will be visiting mountainous or exposed areas.
To enjoy your trip to the full we therefore recommend that customers bring with them suitable warm clothing and sturdy footwear. Insulated jump suits for activities such as snow mobiling will be provided.

Yes, all fuel and running costs of our vehicles are included in the price of our tours.
Small children are welcome to join our tours provided that they are accompanied by an adult at all times. Please let us know in advance if your party will include children so that we can provide child seats if necessary.
To maximize the enjoyment of all of our customers, we suggest that parties with small children may prefer to book a private vehicle or arrange to travel with other family groups.
Our tours take us out into remote parts of the countryside. Please be aware that not all trips may be suitable for very young children or those with babies. You may wish to discuss a less demanding itinerary with us before booking.
No specialized equipment is needed other than warm clothing and sturdy footwear.
For expeditions, we will discuss with you in advance what appropriate equipment is required.
Passengers over the age of 18 may consume alcohol although we encourage moderation. Guests who become intoxicated or disruptive will be immediately transferred back to their accommodation at their own cost.
Please check the individual details of each tour for refreshments which are included.
Passengers are welcome to bring their own refreshments as they wish.
While we undertake tours in all weather, some routes may be inaccessible during very poor weather. Activities, such as snow mobiling depend on snow conditions. We may therefore have to adjust our activities accordingly. We will discuss options with you and issue a refund if scheduled activities are cancelled.
Tours may be changed subject to our discretion and availability. Please give us as much advanced notice as possible if you wish to alter your route.
In the case of expeditions where routes may be more complex, we will need to discuss options with you.
All of our vehicles are equipped with GSM and VHF communications so that emergency assistance can be sought quickly if necessary.
Helicopter medivac is available in Iceland and can be summoned in the case of emergency.
All of our vehicles are fully insured and Mountain Taxi has liability insurance in the case of injury of one of our passengers. For details of our liability cover, please ask.
Mountain Taxi has never had a medical claim during the 15 years of its operation.
For longer journeys we encourage guests to bring their own music although you may also wish to discover new Icelandic artists. Please bear in mind that tastes differ and that a suitable choice of music will depend upon a consensus of passengers in your vehicle.
Pets are not allowed on Mountain Taxi tours, except by special permission.
Registered guide dogs are permitted on Mountain Taxi tours but must remain on the leash for the duration of the tour.
While the cost of the tour will be settled in advance, sundries such as souvenirs as well as all refreshments that are not included in the trip will need to be purchased separately.
All retail locations in Iceland accept international credit cards as well as local currency (Icelandic krona).
We welcome guests who are handicapped. Please be aware that outdoor activities may be restricted for guests with disabilities, however they will nonetheless be fully able to enjoy a wonderful tour and the beauty of Icelandic nature from the comfort of our vehicles.
